The collages bring together storyboard sketches from Star Wars (Episode 1: The Phantom Menace) and photographs by Japanese artists Yōsuke Yamahata taken on August 10, 1945, the day after the atomic bombing of Nagasaki. As a medium, the collage is a gesture – the truncating and decontextualization of a sequence of images, in a way that maximizes their effect and produces a new context. The collage is made up of images of the human body during or after a war with and in an imaginary battlefield.
